When I was first starting out at UNO I was somewhat confused on how my assignments were being graded. This is because some of my classes would have assignments that were weighted while some didn't. It turns out that this is because teachers at UNO can choose whether or not they want their assignments to have weighted grading or not.

If they do have weighted grading then all assignments that fall under that category will only work towards that portion of the grade. As an example, if I had an overall 90% in zyBooks Participation Activities then my overall grade in that class would drop by 1%. Now, if the assignments in that class are unweighted then that means that your overall grade in the class will be determined as an average of the points that you got from every assignment in that class. Some teachers will still have something kind of like weighted grades in this system though by making tests or quizzes worth much more points than regular assignments.
